Culm Store Distribution ELTERM Ltd products are made of high-quality mild steel, manufactured in accordance with the highest testing and certification standards. All products are designed and welded to meet the strictest quality requirements.

Our factory has over 30 years of experience in the heating industry. Throughout these years, we have developed and invented numerous products that have become widely used. We distribute these solutions across Europe and other continents, ensuring quality and innovation in every application.

Please note: We (Culm Stores Distribution Elterm Ltd) do not offer any products made of so-called "galvanized stainless steel." Our products are made from genuine materials that meet rigorous EU & BS safety and quality standards.

The Low-Loss Header, also known as a Hydraulic Balancer, is designed to separate the circulation of the boiler from the heating system, making it ideal for medium to high-power systems (from 40 kW). It supports multiple boilers and various heating circuits, such as floor heating, radiators, and hot utility water. The hydraulic balancer ensures independent operation of pumps, eliminates the need for separate flow balancing, and incorporates desilter and air vent functions to enhance system performance and protect the boiler from low-temperature corrosion.

Operational Modes:

  1. When the heat requirement equals the boiler’s output: system is balanced.
  2. If heating demand is less than the boiler’s output: return water from the balancer signals the boiler to reduce power.
  3. If demand exceeds boiler output: increased pump suction signals the boiler to increase power.

Key features of the Low Loss Header SHE 1 1/4":

  • Max flow: 4.0 m³/h
  • Max power: 70 kW
  • Connectors: 4 x 5/4”
  • Nominal pressure: 10 bar
  • Max temperature: 110°C
  • Capacity: 1.6 liters

Benefits for investors include:

  • Up to 30% longer boiler service life due to protection from low return water temperatures
  • Increased operational comfort through system desiltering and aeration
  • Up to 30% longer pump service life
  • Faster boiler response
  • Cost savings of up to 50% compared to 3- or 4-way valves

Benefits for installers:

  • No need for complex system regulation
  • Reduced claims caused by improper system operation or air locking

Variants available:

  • SHE (LLH): Power 40-420 kW
  • SHE-OC: Insulated version with PUR foam and leatherette, power 40-115 kW (larger units up to 420 kW can be insulated upon request)
  • SHE-SP: Stainless steel with replaceable air separator, power 25-209 kW

Customer satisfaction is prioritized through reliable, efficient heating system operation.

SHE Hydraulic Separators – Headers for Central Heating Systems

A properly designed central heating system should deliver reliable, efficient, and energy-saving performance for many years. One of the key components responsible for achieving these results is a hydraulic separator. This essential element is widely used in both modern and upgraded heating installations, ensuring the stable and efficient operation of the entire system.

SHE hydraulic separators are suitable for heating systems powered by solid fuel boilers, condensing boilers, and heat pumps. In solid fuel boiler installations, they effectively protect the boiler against excessively low return water temperatures, helping to extend the service life of the heating equipment and improve its reliability.

What Is the Purpose of a Hydraulic Separator?

The primary function of a hydraulic separator is to hydraulically separate the heat source circuit from the heating distribution circuit. This allows flow rates and pressure differences between the individual circuits to be balanced, enabling each circuit to operate independently and efficiently.

Hydraulic separators are particularly beneficial in installations where the required flow rate on the heat source side differs from that of the heating system. They are also an excellent solution for underfloor heating systems, where the temperature difference between the supply and return water is relatively small.

Hydraulic separators are commonly used in:

  • systems with wall-mounted boilers equipped with integrated circulation pumps,
  • compact heating units with a low water volume,
  • heating systems featuring multiple heating circuits.

By maintaining the correct water flow rate, a hydraulic separator effectively separates the boiler circuit from the heating circuit, resulting in improved system stability, enhanced operating efficiency, and greater user comfort.

Why Choose Low Loss Header / Hydraulic Separators from Elterm?

SHE hydraulic separators are premium-quality products designed to ensure efficient operation in a wide variety of central heating systems. Available in six different sizes, they can be easily matched to the requirements of virtually any installation.

Depending on the model, the separators are manufactured from high-grade stainless steel (INOX) or carbon steel protected with a durable powder-coated finish that provides excellent corrosion resistance and long-lasting durability.

All SHE hydraulic separators feature a universal connection spacing compatible with Elterm 2D+ and 3D+ distribution manifolds. Standard equipment includes:

  • an automatic air vent,
  • a drain valve,
  • a robust, durable construction designed for long service life.

Selected models are additionally equipped with a flow guide that reduces the recirculation of hot water directly back to the heat source, improving the overall efficiency of the heating system.

Benefits of Using Low Loss Header / Hydraulic Separator

Installing a SHE hydraulic separator offers numerous advantages, including:

  • balancing flow rates and pressure within the heating system,
  • improving the overall efficiency of the installation,
  • reducing the risk of air accumulation within the system,
  • ensuring smooth operation of multiple heating circuits,
  • extending the service life of boilers and circulation pumps,
  • providing safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the entire central heating system.

SHE hydraulic separators are a proven solution for professional installers and end users looking for high-quality workmanship, reliable performance, and seamless integration with modern heating systems.
